With summer behind us and fall on the horizon, we have several updates to share with you about the progress of OEC Fiber’s build out. We have stayed extremely busy all summer long running strand and fiber throughout our service territory to bring you high-speed fiber services as soon as possible. You may have seen some crews working near your home or office making the magic happen. We couldn’t be prouder of our team and the hard work they’re putting in every day to work towards completing this massive construction project. We still have a way to go, but we’re getting closer every day.

Before we jump into what’s new with OEC Fiber, we owe a HUGE thank you to everyone who made it out to OEC’s 81st Annual Meeting on August 10th. We were absolutely thrilled to see so much excitement around OEC Fiber and bringing our services to your communities. We are so thankful for each and every one of you who stopped by our booth to check out our swag, ask questions and sign up for updates. Internet Package Options

When we say we’re taking high-speed internet where no one else will, we really mean it.

“With fiber connections all the way into the home or business, we are not slowing the connection down with copper wire or connections outside of the building. You will receive true fiber speeds” said David Goodspeed, president of OEC Fiber. “In addition, we will never slow you down by throttling your speeds. What you pay for is what you get.”

Fiber internet is capable of bringing you the fastest internet on the market today. We will offer affordable high-speed fiber solutions for homes and businesses of all sizes. In addition to the speeds below, we have custom options available to best suite your needs. Click on the buttons below for a closer look at features included in our home and business internet packages.

How Much?

With the excitement around OEC Fiber building, we know many of you are wondering how much our packages will cost. While we don’t have pricing ready to announce quite yet, we can assure you that our pricing will be extremely competitive and accessible for all.

“Because we are able to use OEC’s existing electrical infrastructure to build out our network, we are able to bring you quality, high-speed fiber services at some of the lowest rates in the business” said Kayla Brandt, social marketing content manager of OEC Fiber.

We are still working on finalizing several internal processes before we can officially announce pricing. You’ve already taken the first step by signing up for updates to be sure you’re the first to know when we announce how much our plans will cost.

Fiber Ring Map

Has our ring map left you with questions about if we’re making it to your neighborhood or when we’ll be in your area? We have some answers to common questions below to help explain the map further:

Why rings?

These rings provide the basic communication infrastructure throughout our entire fiber system. We have to put these lines into place before we can power up our system and bring you fiber services.

What if I’m not inside of a ring?

These rings just represent our basic infrastructure. Just because you're outside of a ring does not mean we won't be coming your way. We will build out from and into these rings.

What if I’m not in the first couple of rings? When will you be in my area?

Just because you aren't in Ring 1 doesn't mean service won't be available to you sooner rather than later. We will be opening up service in areas that are ready as soon as we can, which may end up being outside of numerical order. Also, we won't slow down the build out in all rings while we are connecting other subscribers to our services - we will have crews working at full speeds throughout all rings to get fiber services to your area as quickly as possible.

How will you know to come to my neighborhood?

Signing up for updates and spreading the word to your neighbors is the best way to make sure we'll be coming to your neighborhood when we're ready to install fiber in your area. If there is a lot of interest surrounding your home or business (which is determined by mapping those signed up for updates), we will know that you’re waiting on us to make it to you. This helps us bring you service faster, so make sure to spread the word to your neighbors and friends!

How quickly can you get here?

How quickly we make it to your home or business depends on where you are located on the map and in relation to the rings. Once our fiber optic network rings are built out, we will be able to begin hooking up homes and businesses that lie within a certain radius of the ring lines. And don’t worry if you aren’t in that approximate 500-foot radius - it doesn’t mean we won’t be hooking you up! It just means you may need to be a bit more patient as we continue to build out to you.
